JERUSALEM, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Israeli champions Hapoel Holon defeated Polish side Legia Warsaw 101-79 in Group C of the FIBA Basketball Champions League at the Toto Arena on Tuesday evening.
It was Holon's fourth win in five games, putting the Israeli side in first place, which leads to the round of 16, with one gameday remaining in the four-team group.
Chris Johnson scored 25 points, while Erick Green contributed 23 more for Holon. Joe Ragland finished with 18 assists, a new all-time game-high record in the Champions League.
Turkey's Galatasaray is currently in second place, with a 3-2 win-loss record, after an 91-85 home loss to Belgian champion BC Oostende, who thus gained their second win. Legia remained with one win in five games.
Group winners advance to the round of 16, and second and third teams in each group will compete in the play-in phase for more spots in the next phrase.
On the closing gameday, scheduled for December 20, Oostende will host Holon, while Legia will face Galatasaray.
